Morning all - Lockdown!

Good Morning all

As the world is a scary place with the Coronavirus, hopefully we can spread a little joy with our blogs giving you inspiration and ideas.

This week I have watched Tracy Evans live on her face book page which is full of inspiration and fabulous demos to inspire us to try new ideas.

From the first live this week I had fun making a card using a shaped cut out for the focal part and blended distress oxide inks through it, stencilled using the All and Create totally dotty stencil and different inks.  The stamped image was a Tracy Evans  and a small abstract number stamp and a ruler stamp with Live in the moment stamped on top of it.  The finishing touches were some burlap tread and a frame and heart from my stash.

The second live was using a dish of water and dropping alcohol inks into the water and then dipping the card in, below are the results, I got carried away, I need to make some cards from these backgrounds.

Where has time gone!!

Afternoon all

Apologies, where has time gone.
Todays blog is a Steam Punk canvas I made for the Powertex challenge, and i am really pleased to say it was pick as the winning piece.  My favourite is the little plaster owl added to the centre on real twigs with lichen.

I used the reverse of the canvas and added the rivetted pieces in the back, they are made from Katy Sue moulds using Hearty Clay. all painted with black Powertex which acts and a glue and a paint.

I added some texture to the  surface.

MDF letters painted black and some die cut cogs and the clock in the cethre and MDF cogs on the outer edge.   Painted with imagination craft rust and Verdigris paints and dry brushed with various acrylic paints and mica powders mixed with varnish

Christmas is fast approaching

Good Afternoon

Another few quick crafty makes, I love Lavinia Stamps and this card is one of my favourites I have made. The back ground is another from my crafty stash and the hills are inked using torn paper, Lavinia stamps and a sentiment from my stash.

This next card is also a background from my stash and more Lavinia stamps and a sentiment from my stash again

These few are Visible image stamps and more background from my stash.  Embossing powders give a lovely texture and a white gel pen to highlight the images.

Poppies

Good afternoon crafty friends

Aluminium Wire 1.2mm and 0.7mm

Red acrylic paint

The clay is lovely to use and i also made a poppy brooch to wear, but that has not faired so well

possibly because i am too clumsy and have caught it a few times :-)

Morning all. Another finished canvas this week

Products used

Powertex in grey

Pebeo and imagination crafts gilding waxes

Imagination crafts verdigris and rust paste

Imagination crafts paints and pastes 

Powertex varnish and powders

Sand balls

I started by laying out my design on my chosen canvas and took a photograph of it 

Not everything will go back on in the same place as ideas change.

I painted the canvas with Powertex and then painted all the embellishments

 and added them in place with the Powertex which glues as well as paints

Once dried after a couple of days I added my pastes and paints and let them dry in

between layers and then dry brushed with lots of gilding wax and varnish and pigments
