Another Circular canvas!

Good afternoon

I think i am on a role with using a circular substrate at the moment, they just seem to work so well

Canvas number 2

Materials

20cm circular card 300gsm
20cm circular cake board
Tracy Evans Stamp sets
Scraps of card glued to an A4 card base
Paints, inks, guilding wax, glue,
Soft wire, thread, embellishments - wire mesh,  a hinge, a key and some embossing frantage powders

Finished canvas

Scraps of card glued on to an A4 sheet of card and an 8" circle cut out

Turn the circle over and score at 1" intervals going over it 2 or 3 times as the card is really thick

Using distress oxide ink pads - Speckled egg and Vintage photo very lightly drag the ink pad down the canvas catching the scored lines

I stamped some circles onto the canvas in Speckled egg and Ivory paint and some numbers in the inks.

Close up of the stamping

2 rectangular pieces of card scored at 1/2" intervals and inked in the same way

I dragged the 2 ink pads down the length of some card and cut some thin strips and staggered the lengths

I stamped the figure from 3 times and cut them out and layered together to make it thicker

I layered the rectangles with heavy Gel medium to get some lift and added in a hinge and key, both painted to go with the piece.  A piece of wire mesh and some fine silver wire and thread and then the image on top  I cut out some of the numbers from the stamp and added them too along with some embossing  ink bits and sentiments from the stamp to finish it off

Thank you for visiting and hope to see you again

Circular canvas inspired by Tracy Evans

Good afternoon all

A grey cool day in Perthshire, would love to see some more sunshine, hopefully later this week.

I took part in an online workshop with Tracy Evans in May and loved it.  Tracy is a great tutor and all taking part were great fun and the artwork produced was fabulous.  If you are looking for an online workshop there are loads around at the moment and Tracy's are really good fun and informative.

Craft Stamper Challenge May 2020

Hi Me again

2 posts in one day, this time a decorative piece made using Tracy Evans stamps from All and Create.

I wanted to make a flower but didn't have a flower stamp so I used the bottom image dragon fly stamp #230 and fussy cut it multiple times to make a 3 layer flower.                                          No photo description available.     No. 230 On Dragonfly Wings Aall and Create Stamp Set (A4) - AAL00230

The substrate was a piece of MDF, with crumpled tissue paper glued onto it and painted with gesso and black chalk paint.  I dry brushed over it with a gold paint to highlight all the texture,  A piece of burlap was added to the centre and a stem and leaves made from gold wire.  gold fine wire was gathered into a scrunched circle and placed behind the flower with some faux pearls in the centre.

A hanging bracket on the back means it can be put on the wall or on a little easel

I would like to enter this into the Craft stamper challenge for May 2020

Morning all - Lockdown!

Good Morning all

As the world is a scary place with the Coronavirus, hopefully we can spread a little joy with our blogs giving you inspiration and ideas.

This week I have watched Tracy Evans live on her face book page which is full of inspiration and fabulous demos to inspire us to try new ideas.

From the first live this week I had fun making a card using a shaped cut out for the focal part and blended distress oxide inks through it, stencilled using the All and Create totally dotty stencil and different inks.  The stamped image was a Tracy Evans  and a small abstract number stamp and a ruler stamp with Live in the moment stamped on top of it.  The finishing touches were some burlap tread and a frame and heart from my stash.

The second live was using a dish of water and dropping alcohol inks into the water and then dipping the card in, below are the results, I got carried away, I need to make some cards from these backgrounds.

Happy crafting everyone  see you next time xx
